As part of American Tire Distributors’ (ATD) National Rollout Program, BCCG provided Design-Build services for this 125,060-square-foot distribution center. The facility has a 4,000-square-foot office as well as 17 dock positions with multiple dock heights and a 60-foot speed bay to serve ATD’s needs.
Because the site is located so close to the Colorado Springs Airport, BCCG had to factor in time to obtain additional approvals. Tall construction equipment, including cranes, requires Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) permits to operate. Therefore, to meet ATD’s expedited project time line, BCCG’s personnel was proactive and persistent in pursuing necessary permits by maintaining constant contact with the FAA to verify and address questions, and to keep the project moving forward.
Including land acquisition and permitting, the facility was completed on a fast-track schedule of 11 months.
